Threading & Tinting
What is Threading?
Threading is a type of hair removal using cotton or polyester thread that originated in Iran, Indus Valley and India. Threading is performed by creating a loop with the thread which is twisted multiple times and then rolled over the unwanted hairs, removing them at the root.
Why choose Threading?
There are many benefits of choosing Threading over other forms of hair removal. Threading is often used for smaller areas such as the eyebrows, chin, upper lip and other areas of the face. The nature of using thread gives the user easy flexibility and precision. Threading also pulls the hairs directly from the root without affecting the surrounding skin. The process is much quicker than plucking, as it allows multiple hairs to be pulled out at once.
What is Tinting?
Tinting is a process which dyes the eyebrows or eyelashes to a different shade from their natural colour, usually darker. For eyelashes, the most common colours are black, which gives a deep, matt colour to the eyelashes, or blue black, which gives the same depth, but with a slight blue hue, showing a slightly shinier effect.
For eyebrows, a light or dark brown is often used, the light brown has a more ashy tone, and the dark brown a more red tone.
How long does the tint last?
Tinting can last from anywhere between seven days, to four weeks. This all depends on how often the area is cleansed, with what products, and how quick your hair cycle is.
